Ms. Juliana Lafaialii joined the Crown Law Department in 2009 after having graduated with an LLB from the University of the South Pacific in 2008. While undergoing her PDLP programme she carried out her practical placement in the Crown Law Department in 2009.Upon joining the office she was appointed as an Assistant Crown Counsel, a position which she presently holds. Ms. Lafaialii was admitted as a Law Practitioner to the Supreme Court of Tonga in 2009.
Ms.Lafaialii is the Secretary for Tonga Law Society and is a member of the Women in Law Association
Ms.Lafaialii has appeared as Guardian Ad Litem in a number of family law cases. Her work involves presenting the interests of the child in adoption cases, as well as assisting the Court in family law cases involving children. Her work also involves legal research, legal drafting, preparing briefs and indictments for criminal matters. She is the head of the Social Sector of the office. Ms. Lafaialii appears for both criminal and civil matters for the Crown.
