Welcome to the official website of the Attorney General's Office of the Government of the Kingdom of Tonga, and the official legislative website for promulgation of the Laws of the Kingdom.
The Attorney General's Office provides legal services to His Majesty's Government and the people of the Kingdom in accordance with the Constitution of Tonga and the Laws of the Kingdom.
The Attorney General's Office role is based upon the accepted traditional functions of the Crown's Law Officers. Generally, these functions revolve around the following categories:
- Legal Advice;
- Criminal Prosecutions;
- Representing Government and the Kingdom in civil and land litigation;
- Law Officer Functions; and
- Legislative Drafting.
